Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kutaisi

Reception at Kutaisi airport and transfer to the hotel. Free time to rest and get a first impression of this historic city, former capital of the Kingdom of Colchis. Accommodation in Kutaisi.

Day 2: Kutaisi - Gelati - Motsameta - Prometheus Cave

We begin exploring Kutaisi's treasures. We visit Gelati Monastery (UNESCO), founded by King David the Builder in the 12th century, with its impressive mosaics and frescoes. We continue to nearby Motsameta Monastery, in a spectacular natural setting above a river meander. In the afternoon, descent into Prometheus Cave to admire its spectacular stalactite and stalagmite formations, with optional boat ride on the underground lake. Accommodation in Kutaisi.

Day 3: Kutaisi - Mtskheta - Tbilisi (250 km)

We head to eastern Georgia. First stop in Mtskheta, the ancient capital and spiritual center of the country. We visit Jvari Monastery (UNESCO) with panoramic views over the confluence of the Aragvi and Mtkvari rivers, and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, where tradition holds Christ's robe is kept. We continue to Tbilisi for a first glimpse of the capital. Walk through the old town with its carved wooden balconies and Narikala Fortress. Accommodation in Tbilisi.

Day 4: Tbilisi - Kakheti Region - Tbilisi

A day dedicated to the birthplace of wine. We cross the Gombori Pass to the fertile Kakheti region. First stop in Telavi, the regional capital, to stroll through its historic center. We visit Tsinandali, the historic residence of Prince Chavchavadze with its English gardens and 19th-century winery. We continue to Alaverdi Cathedral, one of the tallest in Georgia. Lunch at a local family home with Georgian cooking demonstration. Visit to a family winery to learn the traditional qvevri winemaking method and wine tasting. Return to Tbilisi. Day 5: Tbilisi - Sighnaghi - Khareba Winery - Tbilisi

Second day in the wine region. We head to Sighnaghi, the charming "City of Love," with its 18th-century walls and spectacular views of the Alazani Valley. Visit to Bodbe Convent, where the remains of Saint Nino, Georgia's evangelist, rest. We continue to the exclusive Khareba Winery, carved into a mountain tunnel that originally had military purposes. Wine tasting in this unique setting. Return to Tbilisi with time to explore the city on your own. Accommodation in Tbilisi.

Day 6: Tbilisi - Full City Tour

A day dedicated to discovering the Georgian capital in depth. We start at Metekhi Church with views over the Mtkvari River. We take the funicular up to Narikala Fortress and descend through the Abanotubani sulfur baths district. We visit Sioni Cathedral, Anchiskhati Basilica, and stroll along Rustaveli Avenue. In the afternoon, free time to explore the Dry Bridge market with its Soviet antiques or relax in one of the traditional sulfur baths. Accommodation in Tbilisi.

Day 7: Tbilisi - Ananuri - Gudauri - Kazbegi (150 km)

Today we travel the legendary Georgian Military Highway to the Greater Caucasus mountains. First stop at the fortified Ananuri complex, former residence of the Dukes of Aragvi, on the shores of Zhinvali Reservoir. We continue ascending through increasingly impressive landscapes, passing Gudauri ski resort and the Russia-Georgia Friendship viewpoint. Arrival in Kazbegi (Stepantsminda), a small village dominated by the silhouette of Mount Kazbek (5,047 m). In the afternoon, ascent by 4x4 vehicles to Gergeti Trinity Church, one of Georgia's icons, located at 2,170 m altitude. Accommodation in Kazbegi.

Day 8: Kazbegi - Gori - Uplistsikhe - Kutaisi (280 km)

We descend from the mountains toward western Georgia. Stop in Gori, Stalin's birthplace, with time to photograph the museum dedicated to the Soviet leader. We continue to Uplistsikhe, a fascinating rock-hewn city that was an important Silk Road center from the first millennium BC. Exploration of its streets, temples, and theaters carved into stone. In the afternoon, arrival in Kutaisi. Accommodation in Kutaisi.

Day 9: Kutaisi - Martvili Canyon - Okatse Canyon - Kutaisi

A day dedicated to the natural wonders of the Imereti region. At Martvili Canyon, we enjoy a magical boat ride through turquoise waters between rock walls covered in lush vegetation. We continue to Okatse Canyon, where we walk along spectacular suspended walkways over the void with dizzying views of the gorge. In the afternoon, free time to stroll through Kutaisi's center, visit the green market, and enjoy local gastronomy. Farewell dinner with Imereti region specialties. Accommodation in Kutaisi.

Day 10: Kutaisi - Departure

Free time until transfer to Kutaisi airport for your return flight. End of our services.
