Yes, very safe compared to many European countries. Tbilisi is safe day and night. Use common sense like any city.

Yes, absolutely. Georgia has an excellent network of ATMs (cash machines) in all cities, especially concentrated in Tbilisi. You'll find ATMs at the airport, train stations, shopping centers, banks, and in all major tourist areas like the Old Town. ATMs accept Visa, Mastercard, Cirrus, and Maestro cards. Money exchangers ("exchange") are available in tourist zones, hotels, and banks, though they typically offer worse rates than ATMs. ATM transactions usually have fees of 1-2€ (check with your bank if applicable). If you need to exchange cash, it's better to use banks or ATMs directly. In small villages ATMs are less frequent, so plan ahead. Overall: getting cash is never a problem in Georgia.
Yes, Visa and Mastercard work fine in Georgia, especially in cities and tourist areas. We recommend notifying your bank that you're traveling to Georgia to avoid security blocks. In Tbilisi, hotels, major restaurants, shops, and shopping centers accept cards without issue. However, many small businesses, markets (bazaars), taxis, and local restaurants only accept cash (GEL). This is why it's important to carry both cards and cash. Visa is generally better accepted than Mastercard in small places. Some ATMs may reject cards with weak chips or very old cards. Preferably use cards without international fees if you have them. It's always prudent to carry 200-300€ in cash as backup just in case. Mix your payment methods and you'll have no problems.
