Itinerary

DAY 1: Tbilisi - Mtskheta - Uplistsikhe - Gori - Kutaisi

We will leave Tbilisi behind to first visit the ancient capital and religious center of Georgia, Mtskheta. There we will explore its World Heritage treasures: the panoramic Jvari Monastery and the sacred Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. Next, we will travel through ancient history at Uplistsikhe, an impressive Iron Age rock-hewn city where we will walk among caves and temples carved into sandstone. Our next stop will be in the nearby city of Gori, where we will visit the Stalin Museum to learn about the birthplace and trajectory of the Soviet leader. Finally, we will continue our journey westward, entering the legendary land of Colchis, until we reach Kutaisi, where we will stay.

DAY 2: Kutaisi - Bagrati - Gelati - Prometheus - Kutaisi

Our day begins by immersing ourselves in the vibrant local life of Kutaisi with a visit to its colorful Agricultural Market. Among spice stalls and fresh produce, we will enjoy an authentic sensory experience before ascending Ukimerioni hill to admire the majestic Bagrati Cathedral. This architectural gem will offer us unforgettable panoramic views of the city before continuing to Gelati Academy. In this monastic complex, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, we will travel back in time through its impressive frescoes and historic atmosphere. Subsequently, we will exchange human legacy for natural wonder by exploring Prometheus Cave. We will venture into this spectacular underground world of illuminated stalactites and stalagmites, where we will have the opportunity to take a boat ride on its hidden river, conditions permitting.

DAY 3: Kutaisi - Okatse - Martvili - Batumi

We will leave Kutaisi behind to venture into the lush nature of western Georgia, on a day dedicated to spectacular landscapes. Our first stop will be in the Imereti region to explore Okatse Canyon. There we will experience a vertiginous adventure walking along its famous suspended walkway over the abyss, enjoying unparalleled views of the deep gorge and virgin forest. Subsequently, we will move to the Samegrelo region to discover the magic of Martvili Canyon. This place seems straight out of a fairy tale, with its intense turquoise waters and dense vegetation. If water levels permit, we will take a relaxing boat ride on the Abasha River, navigating between moss-covered rock walls, and walk along scenic trails surrounded by crystal-clear waterfalls. After a day of total immersion in these natural gems, we will descend towards the Black Sea coast to end our route in the vibrant and modern city of Batumi.

After a relaxing breakfast at the hotel, we will begin our adventure discovering the natural wealth of the coast at Shekvetili Dendrological Park. This impressive modern botanical garden unfolds as a biodiversity sanctuary facing the Black Sea, where we will stroll among a unique collection of more than 200 species of exotic plants, explore its fascinating tropical greenhouse, and venture into its artistic hedge labyrinth. Subsequently, our journey will turn towards history and spirituality as we head to Ubisa Monastery. Nestled in a picturesque mountainous landscape, this 9th-century complex houses one of Georgia's most valuable artistic treasures: its vibrant 14th-century frescoes.
