DAY 1: Arrival in Batumi
Transfer from Batumi airport to the hotel with guide assistance.

DAY 2: Batumi and surroundings
Visit to the Batumi Ethnographic Museum with its impressive wood carvings. Exploration of the historic Gonio Fortress, an ancient Roman bastion from the 1st century. Tour of downtown Batumi, the old town, and its iconic coastal Boulevard.

DAY 3: Batumi - Dendrological Park - Ubisa - Tbilisi
Visit to Shekvetili Dendrological Park with over 200 species of exotic plants, tropical greenhouse, and hedge maze. Stop at Ubisa Monastery from the 9th century with its valuable 14th-century frescoes. Arrival in Tbilisi.

DAY 4: Tbilisi - Guided tour
Tour of Rustaveli Avenue admiring Parliament, Opera House, and Rustaveli Theatre. Visit to Metekhi Square with views of the Mtkvari River. Cable car ride to Narikala Fortress. Exploration of Abanotubani district with its sulfur baths. Visit to Anchiskhati Basilica, the oldest church in the city.

DAY 5: Tbilisi - Ananuri - Kazbegi - Tbilisi
Visit to the imposing Ananuri Fortress with views of Zhinvali Reservoir. Ascent to Gergeti Trinity Church at 2,170 meters altitude, beneath the majestic Mount Kazbegi. Return to Tbilisi.

DAY 6: Tbilisi - Mtskheta - Uplistsikhe - Gori - Kutaisi
Visit to Mtskheta, ancient capital and religious center: Jvari Monastery and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (UNESCO World Heritage). Exploration of Uplistsikhe, Iron Age cave city. Visit to Stalin Museum in Gori. Arrival in Kutaisi.

DAY 7: Kutaisi - Prometheus Cave - Martvili - Batumi
Descent into the spectacular Prometheus Cave with its ancient stalactites and stalagmites. Visit to Martvili Canyon with its turquoise waters and subtropical vegetation, with boat ride on the Abasha River. Return to Batumi.

About this trip
Embark on "Classic Georgia" with this 8-day itinerary designed for those arriving through the Black Sea coast. Starting in the vibrant city of Batumi, we will enjoy its modern architecture and famous boulevard before venturing into the heart of the country. This journey connects sea level with the peaks of the Greater Caucasus, offering a visual narrative that changes dramatically day by day.
Leaving the coast behind, we will travel east, stopping at the Dendrological Park to admire its collection of giant trees and exotic birds. In Tbilisi, the capital, we will lose ourselves in its history-filled alleyways, sulfur baths, and wooden balconies. From there, we will take the historic Georgian Military Highway north. The highlight will be the ascent to Kazbegi (Stepantsminda), where the Gergeti Trinity Church stands solitary before the imposing glacier of Mount Kazbek.
The return journey west is a lesson in history and geology. We will visit the ancient capital Mtskheta and the cave city of Uplistsikhe, a pagan settlement carved into rock. In the Imereti region, we will explore Prometheus Cave and sail through the turquoise waters of Martvili Canyon. We will end again in Batumi, completing a perfect circle that combines coastal relaxation with alpine adventure and the cultural richness of central Georgia.
